His name is Muhammad ibn Abd Allah ibn Abd al-Muttalib, which means that Muhammad bin Abd Allah bin Abd al-Muttalib. He was born into the Quraysh tribe and family of Banu Hashim in Mecca around 570 CE, with the standard family that can be described as “upper middle class.” His father died before his birth and his mother died when she was about six years. The young orphan was then sent to live with his paternal grandfather, Abd al-Muttalib. When he was only eight years old, his grandfather also died, and Muhammad (SAW) has been treated by his uncle, Abu Talib, who continue to support and protect him during the next 40 years.
